All stake holders of
South Asia Rubber & Polymers Park

Sub: Update on the status of Rubber Park

As you are aware that the strategic issues facing SARPOL are two folded land issues with the Government of West Bengal which has been the reasons for the inordinate delay in the project implementation.

  1. Acquisitioned portion of land from WBIDC:

The lease deed from WBIDC has been forwarded to SARPOL for registration for which an amount of about Rs 65 lakhs is needed to be paid, after exemption of Rs 72 lakhs on account of stamp duty registration fees.

  1. The Government has demanded Rs 1.71 crores as salami and Rs 25 lakhs p,a. vide their letter No. 1927-GE(m)/3M-27/13 dated 16.07.2014 (copy enclosed) for the land vested with the Government.

The above two issues need to be addressed immediately to enable SARPOL to handover land to the stake holders and funds for the same need to be mobilized; to that effect members are requested to immediately pay up at least 25% of the amount due from each stake holder, details of which are being annexed herewith.

The aforesaid amount of 25% needs to be paid immediately within a period of three weeks so that the issue of land transfer is not shunted into cold storage because of the impending assembly elections. The Board of SARPOL earnestly request you to act urgently for the conclusion of the project.

Thanking you,

Yours truly,
